UPCOMING HOSTED TRIPS
In 2025, we successfully completed eight trips to Fanning. The program has been tested, and many nice fish were hooked (not all were landed!). We have also been working with Air Kiribati on flights to Fanning and other logistics to make these remote trips happen.
Interest in Fanning is high, and this schedule will be updated regularly. Our goal is to provide a sustainable level of fishing pressure on Fanning; this means there will be intermittent fishing weeks and rest periods for the fishery.
If you are an experienced fly fishing travel host and would like to book a custom trip, don't hesitate to contact us. We offer standard booking commissions and a free host spot with a group of six paid anglers.

Tabuaeran is a year-round fishery. We schedule monthly weeks based on optimal tide and moon cycles.
All dates are Christmas Island Time (CXT), which is +1 day for North America

ITENERARIES
We offer one and two-week fly-fishing programs. All trips include daily guided fishing, lodging on Christmas and Fanning Island, round-trip flights from CXI to Fanning, Kiribati fishing license, meals, all transportation.
Maximum of six anglers. Prices are in USD.
Flights to Christmas Island (CXI), personal and fishing gear, and alcohol are not included in this pricing.
One-Week Fanning Adventure
Five Fishing Days | $5,100
Wednesday: arrive CXI, overnight on Christmas Island
Thursday: fly to Fanning Island, transport via boat to lodge, afternoon fishing
Friday-Monday: 4 full days of fishing on Tabuaeran
Tuesday: return to CXI, overnight on Christmas Island
Wednesday: depart CXI to home
Two-Week Fanning Adventure
Twelve Days Fishing on Fanning | $8,700
Wednesday: arrive CXI, overnight on Christmas Island
Thursday: fly to Fanning Island, transport via boat to lodge, afternoon fishing
Friday to Monday (following week): 11 full days of fishing on Tabuaeran
Tuesday (following week): return to CXI, overnight on Christmas Island

This trip may be combined with fishing on Christmas Island (anglers return to CXI on the Thursday flight)

This is a booking inquiry. Before booking, payment, and confirmation, we will schedule a call or Zoom meeting to discuss trip details and answer your questions. Once dates and anglers are determined, a 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation, with the remaining balance due 90 days prior to the trip.

Important: Please Read
Tabuaeran is a remote location with limited resources. Our team works diligently to provide you with a personal and epic adventure on Fanning. On Fanning, you will live island-style, camp in huts, and fish long days. The trip is not for inexperienced anglers and requires an open mindset, flexibility, and a healthy body.
Logistics
Flight Schedule and Changes
There are no direct international flights to Fanning Island. Travelers must fly to Christmas Island (CXI) before taking the first available flight to Fanning (TNV). Air Kiribati is the only airline servicing the CXI-TNV route. The current flight schedule operates round-trip flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We work closely with the airline to ensure anglers make the most of their time on Fanning, but we will not be responsible for any changes the airline makes.
Food and Water
Meals feature local ingredients such as fresh fish, vegetables, and fruit, supplemented by rice and other staples. Anglers must self-manage dietary restrictions and should bring their own snacks, energy drinks, bars, etc. The lodge provides treated potable water for drinking.
WiFi and Power
Starlink Wi-Fi is available at the lodge during specific times. There is no cellular service on Fanning. Electrical power is provided by solar energy and can be limited (there is usually enough power to charge small devices).
Safety and Health
Medical care is limited on Fanning. In the case of a serious medical emergency, definitive care is a long way away. Anglers traveling to Fanning should be in good physical health and understand that, ultimately, personal safety is their own responsibility (as in, don’t get hurt chasing a big GT).
Insurance is Required
FIO requires that all guests obtain medical evacuation and travel insurance. The cost of medical services and travel disruptions is the angler’s responsibility.

Flights to Christmas Island (CXI)
Fiji Airways is currently the only airline offering international flights to CXI.
Flight FJ 822 departs Nadi Airport (NAN), Fiji, every Wednesday and lands on Christmas Island before proceeding to Honolulu International Airport (HNL). The Eastbound route crosses the international dateline and lands in HNL on a Tuesday. The Westbound route flight FJ 823 departs HNL around noon and lands on CXI before continuing back to Nadi.
